Note to self: Don’t walk around at 2 a.m. with a chainsaw.

TikToker @ethaneharrison lives in Omaha, Nebraska. Recently, he noticed a loud, chainsaw-like sound in his neighborhood at around 2 a.m. He looked out his window and, wouldn’t you know it, there was a guy brandishing an active chainsaw as he walked down the block.

The video shows him making his way down the street, revving the chainsaw the entire time. On a few occasions, he drags it along the ground, causing a flurry of sparks.

Eventually, our Chainsaw Man comes upon the Westbrook Tower apartment complex. He calmly sets down his (still running) chainsaw, gets out his keys, and enters the building. The apartment complex only has a 1.9 out of 5 star rating on Google. Go figure.

Of course, you can’t just roam the streets revving a chainsaw (the Founding Fathers missed this in the Bill of Rights). As a result, the police were called, and by the end of the video, they appear to have arrested the man.

We don’t know what inspired this man to behave in this way, but I reached out to the Omaha police in case they have any insight. They weren’t able to give me the “why” of it all, but they were able to confirm that our chainsaw-wielding buddy is a 22-year-old man named Steven Bifano.

On December 14th, police were granted entry into Bifano’s apartment, at which point they discovered a chainsaw that “had damage to the teeth and was still warm to the touch.” He was then booked with a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct after the events of the video.

Wait… Bifano… That name sounds familiar. Oh right — he was arrested in Omaha last year after going door-to-door with a chainsaw trying to get money from homeowners. This man really shouldn’t be around chainsaws.

Users on TikTok and Reddit were quick to share their thoughts. “When you finally get it running and don’t want to turn it off,” joked a TikToker. “Leaf blower would be just as annoying without the weapons charge,” observed a Redditor. “‘The Omaha Chainsaw Non-Massacre,’” offered a third.

Next time you’re in Omaha, stay off the streets and stick to the zoo.
